Bad Breath Information

The problem of bad breath is common all around the world. Although caused by a lot of factors, bad breath comes mainly from having a poor dental hygiene.  Having a dry mouth at night and waking up the morning after, you develop plaque inside your mouth which is due to the bacteria that stayed in the tongue and teeth.

Precisely, it is very important to keep your mouth clean by brushing your teeth thoroughly and scraping or brushing your tongue, gums and cheeks. Good mental hygiene also scopes using mouth wash and flossing. It is best to floss before brushing the teeth, since it loosens the food particles left in the mouth, especially in the teeth, and removes them.

Other than dental hygiene, several factors can also come into play in bringing about bad breath. A post nasal drip or bad sinuses can actually contribute to bad breath. The drainage from the sinuses is responsible for running down the back part of the throat and onto the back of the tongue. This drainage is composed of dead sinus cells, pus cells, blood cells and several other molecules which the body produces. The drainage, though, has a high protein content, which serves as a food supply to the bacteria causing a foul odor of the mouth.

Surely, it all boils down to cleaning the mouth and keeping it free from any bacteria. This can be achieved by using a tongue scraper and scrapping the tongue from its very back. The tongue scrapers are widely sold in pharmacies. If you are going to use one for the first time, it may be a good thing to gag since it is just close to a gag reflex. But along the way, as you get used to using it, you will find that your body will adapt to it. It can also help to see a dentist to find treatment to your sinus infections, where you can learn about medications and nasal sprays that can control your bad sinuses and will lead you to stop or prevent bad breath.

But the problem only becomes worse if it happens to another person who is your friend.  The difficulty lies in the part of telling that friend without offending him. It all depends on how open he usually is or how far you can go in opening up very personal things such as this but also in making him understand that this is still for his good.
